Watermelon Weekends is everything I love about an Australian summer thrown onto one canvas — cold watermelon, palms, swimmers, pink sunnies and that perfect little beach chair you could happily sit in all afternoon.
It’s inspired by those Northern Beaches weekends where you head down for a swim and somehow the whole day disappears. No real plans, nowhere you need to be, just sunshine and whatever happens next.
The soft blue and washed-out pinks keep it relaxed, while the black-and-white swimmers and hand-painted details give it a bit of personality. Fun, nostalgic and deliberately imperfect.
Basically, summer in painting form.
